Founded by Dr. Sara Pirooz, Learners Leading Learners is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the educational landscape by fostering peer-to-peer teaching and learning.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Pirooz has graced numerous roles with her expertise and passion, from publishing groundbreaking work to teaching the next generation of scientists and students at the university level and beyond. However, her commitment extends far beyond the laboratory and lecture hall. Dr. Pirooz has consistently dedicated her time and energy to volunteering in school districts, driven by a belief in the transformative power of education and a passion for working with children.
It was through these experiences that Dr. Pirooz identified a critical gap in traditional education systems: the underutilization of peer-to-peer learning and the need to embrace the entrepreneurial skills of students born into the era of technology. This realization led to the creation of Learners Leading Learners, a non-profit that embodies Dr. Pirooz's vision for a new kind of educational empowerment.

Co-Founder and Vice President
Co-founded by Dr. Mahdi Eslamimehr who boasts a rich technological background, having been involved in various cutting-edge projects across different industries. His expertise spans areas such as AI/ML, robotics, e-commerce, SaaS, blockchain, and digital health. Noteworthy projects include his involvement in startup mergers and acquisitions, technical vetting, software valuation, and patent portfolio analysis for companies.
On the academic front, Dr. Eslamimehr has made significant contributions to the field of computer science through his teaching and research endeavors. As an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Southern California and previously at California State Polytechnic, Pomona, he has imparted knowledge in software engineering, object-oriented design patterns, and industrial computation to both graduate and undergraduate students. His teaching experience is complemented by a strong research background, including work in compiler labs, testing tools for memory management, and formal verification of concurrent programs. Dr. Eslamimehr's academic journey also includes roles as a Graduate Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles and Visiting Research Fellow at Y Combinator Research, where he collaborated with prestigious institutions like MIT Media Lab and SAP Labs on innovative projects.
